The orange man has his own website! Thanks to the unsung heros at www.ClipArtOf.Com, this cute little hub of orange man activity now exists on the internet! This site is special! It will exist specifically for the purpose of making orange men available to the internet in much broader supply!
Curious? http://www.orange-man.com/ is where its happening. Most people don't know this, but if you put your nose to your computer monitor and smell the orange man, you can actually smell the citrus-ness eminating from the little character. Stop what your doing and smell this picture below:

My biggest personal discovery as a "designer" (I try not to use this term too much) is that there life outside of orange. This has altered my entire world, considering I was born only being able to see the "orange" part of the color spectrum. Now that I'm healed and can see more of the world (admittedly I have used some blues) in all of its wonderful colors, I've now taken all of those little orange men and adapted most of them to other color horizons...like blue...green...yellow...coffee.....
Here's some examples:
www.Clipartof.com has the greatest selection of these alternate colors. See here: http://www.clipartof.com/portfolio/leoblanchette
(If you check my other sites such as Istock or Crestock you will mostly see just orange men). My hope is that these added colors will open up new design possibilities -- or at least just add convenience!

Yet another 3d robotic creation! This was a lot of fun -- I wanted to make a robot that was somewhat realistic and didn't take long to render. The result was this 3d webcam robot.
He is created in blender 3d, and uses material nodes (basically overlapping material effects) as well as render nodes (sort of like an in-program post-processing tool like photoshop) to create the effect of realism. He doesn't actually require raytracing to achieve the "real" so renders take less than five minutes. In the near future I'm going to get a huge line of images produced on a variety of subjects. In the meantime, his existing images are highly useful!
Feel free to check them out!

Creation of Custom Orange Men
The Orange Men are handy little design elements that provide strong visual impact along with a lighthearted professional appeal. As innocent as they look, they have the branding power of a 1,000,000 watt soldering iron!
I first created them a while back to serve as a handy visual tool for designers. I was surprised to see they instantly found popularity with the web design audience!
You the Designer
To my added surprise, I get many inquiries regarding custom work with the orange men. Although its already an extensive series -- at the time of this writing there are about forty different pictures -- you may find you need a special pose or situation to accompany your design. You may be curious as to which rights of use I can extend to you, how much I charge, and so forth.
So I've created this page to cover the entire subject, from the creation to the use of these orange men!
The Creation
Unlike most illustrations that are on the market, the orange men have to be raised from baby-hood. Ok...thats not true. But its still a nice picture, right?
In actuality, they are easy to make. I enjoy doing them in batches of 10 - 12. Please tell me how many you would like, which situations/poses you would like, and if its necessary to go into detail in your requests, please do! My accuracy will be largely dependent on the directions supplied.
Give me about a week...this allows me ample time to do a good job.
The Cost
It baffles people when they hear "I work for free" in making orange men. Well, technically I work for free. I don't charge you for my labor. You will have to pay for them through whichever stock photography site you generally download through. (If you found this through a search or browsing blogs, see http://www.jesterarts.net/ to be directed to where these are sold). My profits occur when they start selling as stock. So no worries, there will be no money changing hands between us in our creative ventures with the orange men!
Which Rights Can I Extend?
The BIG question! Thankfully it has a short answer:
You have whatever rights to the image that the stock photo agency you bought it through allows. Do to many legal complexities, I have to turn down requests such as the most common:
1. Can I have exclusive rights to what you make me?
2. Can I use it in a logo?
3. Can I buy directly from you?
These I cannot allow because it would pose quite a conflict with the sites I upload to, even if I make you a "special" orange man that never gets uploaded. Its still an orange man!
For extended print runs or uses outside of the "standard contracts" an "extended license" can be bought which allows greater/different uses. If there are any questions as to what exactly is allowed, contact the support department of that particular stock site you are buying through. Sticking to rules helps us avoid situations like the picture below presents!
Picture to left: Giant moster attack triggered by ungoverned/legally careless use of images.
So, the steps to give life to a new orange man for your use are these:
1: Request the orange man(s) you want.
2: I create them, free of charge.
3: I upload them, and we wait for image approval (generally less than a week).
4: You download.
5: HAVE FUN!!!
Step five is actually encouraged throughout the entire process.
I look forward to working with you!

Did you know that its not expensive, or necessarily that hard learn 3d art and animation?
I have a feeling this is still not common knowledge.
www.Blender.org Check it out! Its a very, very powerful 3d package. Generally to buy a 3d package, you can expect to spend an upwards of $1000 if you plan to do anything serious. Blender 3d is open source, created by the combined efforts of programmers and 3d enthusiasts around the world. Its free to download, free to use, and free to profit from!
The catch: No fancy tuturials inside the program itself, such as the pricey packages have. But there is a large supply of knowledge on the internet, many forums dedicated to blender where you can find person/person help, and a few good books on the market.
And if I can give one little hint of advice, should you choose to check it out -- Don't be intimidated! (And learn the hotkeys). It looks hard, but its not.
